Full Statement: INEC declares Thursday 27th as date for Osun governorship election re-run   Moments ago, the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, declared the Saturday September 22nd governorship election in Osun state inconclusive.     The electoral body said the number of cancelled votes is higher than the margin between the top two candidates.     Now, INEC has issued a full statement on the election outcome as it declares Thursday, September 27th as the date for a supplementary election in the state.   See the full statement below....

Udoma Udo Udoma, has said that the Buhari-led government has moved 10 million Nigerians out of poverty. Udoma stated this while speaking on arrangements for the 24th Nigerian Economic Summit (NES#24) held at the conference room of the ministry in Abuja today Tuesday September 18th. WAEC Postpones 2018 GCE 2nd Series English Language Paper The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has postponed the English Language examination scheduled to hold on Saturday, September 22 in the ongoing 2nd series WASC examination for private candidates. The English Language examination will now hold September 29, 2018. This information was disclosed by WAEC on its official twitter handle. The tweet reads, “English Language papers will be written on September 29, 2018. Please, go to our registration site ( http://registration.waecdirect.org ) and download the timetable.” The reason for this change was not disclosed but it is being speculated that it may be connected to the Osun State Gubernatorial election scheduled to hold on Saturday 22nd September 2018 during which movement within the state would be restricted. Candidates are therefore advised to take note of the change and inform others as well

82-year-old South African woman escapes death after bullet missed her and lodged in her bible An elderly woman escaped death during a farm attack after a bullet missed her and got lodged in her Bible. The attack reportedly took place on Saturday night outside Mahikeng in South Africa. Bettie Nel, 82, was woken by noises and encountered two attackers in the passage of the house. After throwing a doorstop at them, a shot was fired and the suspects fled. The bullet missed Nel and hit the Bible on the side table next to her bed.     Nel's daughter, Noeline Ferreira, 61, and Ferreira's boyfriend, Thys Pienaar, 63, sustained head injuries after reportedly being attacked in bed with the handle of a pickaxe and a flashlight. The six suspects reportedly stole a firearm and cellphones. So far, no one has been arrested.
