Chatham House Academy Africa Fellowship – Chatham House is pleased to invite applicants for the Academy Africa Fellowship in the Queen Elizabeth II Academy for Leadership in International Affairs.

Application Deadline: 29th April 2018

Eligible Countries: Cote d’Ivoire, Kenya, Nigeria, Senegal, or South Africa.

To be taken at (country): The fellow will be based full-time at Chatham House, London. UK

About the Award: Fellows are hosted by and based in research teams at Chatham House. During the fellowship, the fellow will conduct a research project of their own design which falls within the research topics below.

The parameters for the research topics have been designed in broad terms to allow applicants to devise a project that appeals to their own research interests.

Type: Fellowship (Academic, Career)


The fellowship is open to citizens of Cote d’Ivoire, Kenya, Nigeria, Senegal, or South Africa.Applications will be accepted from applicants holding dual nationality which includes one of these countries.

It is required that the applicant holds a completed BA degree or equivalent, Masters degree with an international focus is preferred.

The fellowship is aimed at candidates at the mid-stage of their career and who come from academia, NGOs, business, government departments, civil society or the media.

They should possess knowledge of, and an interest in, one of the policy-related challenges laid out in the research topics in ‘Research Topics.’

Selection Criteria: Our best candidates typically possess many or all of the following characteristics:

Clear evidence of their leadership experience and background (personal or professional).

Ability to explore problems with a holistic and inclusive perspective, with a natural curiosity towards issues and areas in the broader environment around their more specific research area of expertise.

An original, relevant and clear research project proposal – feasible in the given timeline of the fellowship.

Relevant background experience demonstrated through their curriculum vitae.

Strong track record in their area of expertise, including delivering research Good writing and presentation skills and a publishing record.

Awareness of the international context of their research.

A post-fellowship plan indicating how the candidate will apply their skills, knowledge and experience to impact and influence in their home country or region.

A clear vision of their contribution to the Academy programme and fellowship cohort.

Applicants must adhere to stated word limits and are advised to read through the information on the Academy’s webpages before applying. 

Late or incomplete applications will not be considered, nor will any additional or supplementary materials.

Number of Awardees: Not specified

Value of Fellowship: The fellow will receive a monthly stipend of £2,228.  Modest provision is made for the costs of relocation, fieldwork, and possible publication costs.

Duration of Fellowship: The fellowship is for a 10-month term from mid-September 2018 to mid-July 2019.

A fellow’s time will be split between three key areas:

Completing a personal research project of the fellow’s own design undertaken with the guidance of a Chatham House expert, (approximately 50%).

Contributing to the ongoing research activities of their host research team and other Chatham House teams as appropriate (approximately 20%).

Participation in the Academy’s Leadership Programme (approximately 30%). 

The Leadership Programme is a key part of the Academy fellowships. It provides fellows with the opportunity to develop their knowledge, skills, network and self-awareness, which they can then draw upon in their future careers as effective leaders in their field.

This was confirmed after some of our readers started sharing their results in the online. Although there were speculations that JAMB may release the results after 1 month, we're pleased to inform you that it finally took just three days.

Candidates that took their exams on 9th & 10th March, can now proceed to check their results using the procedures below;

2. Enter your JAMB registration number or Email into the space provided, and then click on "Check My Result".

Your result will be made available to you. You can then screenshot it, and come back here on noblegoldenblog to share your testimony.

In order to obtain the renewal you must apply by the deadlines set in the call for applications, be in possession of the requirements set in the call for applications and be placed among the winners in the ranking list. Renewals are not awarded automatically.

Scholarship benefits
Tuition fee waivers are offered to successful applicants (Unibo Action 1). The annual study grant is worth €11,000 gross (Unibo action 2).

Method of Application
Call for applications Unibo Actions 1&2 - SAT (for students who are interested in registering in a First or Single Cycle Degree Programme) and Call for applications Unibo Actions 1&2 - GRE (for students who are interested in registering in a Second Cycle Degree Programme) will be published by January of the year of call and by the deadline for receipt of applications you must already have passed the SAT or GRE tests.

The application must be submitted exclusively through Studenti Online.

For Unibo Actions 1&2 - SAT:
Publication of the call for applications: January 2018; 
Applications deadline: April 30, 2018 at 12:00 pm (noon) CET. Publication of results: May 2018 

For Unibo Actions 1&2 - GRE:
Publication of the call for applications: January 2018;
Applications deadline: March 30, 2018 at 12:00 pm (noon) CET. Publication of results: April 2018

Students must apply within the set deadline.

You must take the SAT or GRE test by the application deadline. The only upcoming date to take the SAT outside the U.S.A. is March 10, 2018, with registration deadline on February 9, 2018.
