Photo: Fake SARS officer, Tijani Omeka, arrested in Abuja   A fake SARS officer identified as Tijani Omeka, who poses as Corporal Tijani, has been arrested in Abuja.   According to a report by TheNation, the suspect, who is a taxi driver, operates within Mararaba , Area 1 axis of Abuja and extorts money from his victims. The Deputy Commissioner in charge of Criminal Intelligence and Investigation Department, DCP Salisu Gyadi-Gyadi, said Omeka was arrested after the police got a tip off from some of those he had defrauded.   He said: “We recovered from him one black faz cap with the inscription SARS and a walkie-talkie.”   However, on his part, Omeka said: “I found the walkie-talkie from SARS premises on the floor and the cap belongs to one of the Operatives. The policemen are my friends and they usually use my service whenever they go on operation because I’m a taxi driver. I travelled and the cap was with me for about three months because I was out of Abuja. I took my car for

US deports 34 Nigerians over various offences (photo) 34 Nigerians were today deported from the United States of America for allegedly committing various offences in the country. The deportees comprising 32 males and two females,arrived the Cargo Wing of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMlA), Lagos at about 2.30 p.m in a chartered Omni Air International aircraft with Registration Number W342AX.  Confirming the deportation, the spokesman of the Lagos Airport Police Command, DSP Joseph Alabi, said the deportees were alleged to have committed criminal offences, with one involved in narcotics while others were alleged to have committed immigration-related offences. 

A suspected rapist was mercilessly whipped in front of angry residents for allegedly raping a 10-year-old girl in Bayelsa state. It was gathered that the young man lured the child into his bedroom after she begged him for money.    He reportedly asked her to come into his room to get the money and she agreed not knowing that he had ulterior motive. Immediately she entered, he pounced on girl and raped her. The girl complained to her mother, who then raised an alarm within the community. The man as swiftly picked up, stripped of his clothes and flogged mercilessly in front of a baying crowd. According to witnesses at the scene, he blamed his actions on the devil. Photos: EFCC arrests 15 ''Yahoo boys'' …recovers Coffins, Calabash The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Lagos Zonal office, has arrested 15 suspected Internet fraudsters for offences bordering on obtaining by false pretence, lottery scam and love scam.   The suspects are: Adeyemi Tiwatope, 20; Odeyemi Olawale, 20; Nike Afolabi Olaiya, 20; Awe Abimbola Ireti, 23; Yusuf Aliu Oluwafemi, 20; Osidipe Olatunbosun, 24; Tosin Adesanya, 19 and Adeyinka Bello, 17. Others are: Aliu Lukman, 18; Damilola Fatona, 20; Shonubi Adetola, 18; Adewale Babatunde, 17; Afolabi Lekan, 19; Awe Ayodele, 24 and Adeyemi Gbadebo, 19. The suspects were arrested on Saturday, February 3, 2018 in the Shotubo and Awoluwo areas of Sagamu, Ogun State. Their arrest followed intelligence report received by the Commission about their criminal activities. They were alleged to be living flamboyantly without legitimate sources of income. Items recovered from the suspects include laptops,
