•Ambode pledges to partner on investment opportunities President of Lagos Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Babatunde Paul Ruwase, has urged the Federal Government to empower the private sector for job creation, and improve ease of doing business in the country. Speaking yesterday at the Lagos State Day at the Trade Fair, Ruwase said the drop in the rating of ease of doing business in Nigeria showed that government needs to pay more attention to the area.He also suggested that business friendly loans are critical to improving the ease of doing business policy. Oro day: Lagos police reacts to Ikorodu monarch's order for women to sit at home tomorrow The  Lagos state  police command has reacted to the purported order issued by the  Ayangburen of Ikorodu , Oba Kabiru Shotobi, for all women residing in the area to sit at home as the traditionalist in the area would be undergoing a traditional exercise, Oro, that must not be witnessed by women. "I am not afraid of arraignment before the court" - Innoson reacts following the issuance of his arrest warrant Chairman of Innoson Group, Chief Dr innocent Chukwuma popularly known as Innoson has stated that as a law abiding citizen, he's not afraid of arraignment in the court but he must be arraigned through the due process of law.   Innoson stated this today tthrough Cornel Osigwe, the Head of Corporate Communications for Innoson Group while receiving the news of issuance of bench warrant against him today by State High Court Ikeja.   In a ruling by Justice Mojisola Dada, the court ordered that Innoson should be arrested and kept in custody a day before the next adjournment and be produced on the adjourned date, March 14, 2018 for probable arraignment over alleged forgery.   In a related development, the spokesperson of Innoson Group, Cornel Osigwe reacting to the issuance of bench warrant against Innoson stated that the decision of Justice Mojisola Dada was

A suspected rapist was mercilessly whipped in front of angry residents for allegedly raping a 10-year-old girl in Bayelsa state. It was gathered that the young man lured the child into his bedroom after she begged him for money.    He reportedly asked her to come into his room to get the money and she agreed not knowing that he had ulterior motive. Immediately she entered, he pounced on girl and raped her. The girl complained to her mother, who then raised an alarm within the community. The man as swiftly picked up, stripped of his clothes and flogged mercilessly in front of a baying crowd. According to witnesses at the scene, he blamed his actions on the devil. Photos: EFCC arrests 15 ''Yahoo boys'' …recovers Coffins, Calabash The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Lagos Zonal office, has arrested 15 suspected Internet fraudsters for offences bordering on obtaining by false pretence, lottery scam and love scam.   The suspects are: Adeyemi Tiwatope, 20; Odeyemi Olawale, 20; Nike Afolabi Olaiya, 20; Awe Abimbola Ireti, 23; Yusuf Aliu Oluwafemi, 20; Osidipe Olatunbosun, 24; Tosin Adesanya, 19 and Adeyinka Bello, 17. Others are: Aliu Lukman, 18; Damilola Fatona, 20; Shonubi Adetola, 18; Adewale Babatunde, 17; Afolabi Lekan, 19; Awe Ayodele, 24 and Adeyemi Gbadebo, 19. The suspects were arrested on Saturday, February 3, 2018 in the Shotubo and Awoluwo areas of Sagamu, Ogun State. Their arrest followed intelligence report received by the Commission about their criminal activities. They were alleged to be living flamboyantly without legitimate sources of income. 2,277 Nigerians currently await execution There are indications that the number of prison inmates awaiting execution across the country has hit 2,277. According to a special report by New Telegraph, It was also gathered that the number of awaiting trial inmates now stood at 48,702, with the total population of inmates rising to 71,443. It will be recalled that as at December 2016, the condemned inmates’ population stood at 1,440. The implication is that, between December 2016 and now, an additional 837 suspected criminals had been sentenced to death. According to a senior security source, the rise in the number of inmates on death row was a potential threat to prisons security in particular and national security in general.
