Fuel tanker explodes in Akure and many were found dead

The accident occurred when the fuel tanker driver tried all his possible best to avoid colliing with another car and as a result, it fell and thereby immediately exploded making contact with a Toyota car whose driver also was trying to avoid the accident.

This happened at Onyarungbulem junction that links Shagari village just along Owo-Benin expressway Akure, Ondo State not far from an NNPC filling station.

An eye witness said "we don't know how many people that are in the Toyota car but I'm sure all of those people in it are already burnt into ashes"

It was reported that it took several hours before the Akure Fire Service arrived at the scene to put the fire out!. What a calamity !!

20 prisoners escape from prison in the biggest jailbreak in the history of Gambia At least 20 prisoners are on the run in the biggest jailbreak in the history of the Gambia. According to reports, the prisoners escaped from Gambia’s second penitentiary on Saturday, triggering a serious manhunt. They escaped from the remand wing of the Jeshwang Prisons, eight miles outside the capital Banjul on Thursday night into Friday morning. The commissioner of prisons told the African Press Agency that close to two dozen prisoners are at large as of Saturday. The prison commissioner says at least four prison officers who were on duty at the time of the prisoners’ getaway have been arrested in connection with the incident.
