Scholarship Description
The Allan & Nesta Ferguson Charitable Trust Fund offers the Allan & Nesta Ferguson Postgraduate PhD Final Year Scholarship for international and UK students to help fund your studies.
The Trust awards grants to postgraduate PhD students, whether from overseas or from the UK, to help meet tuition costs, but only in respect of the last year of their course. Students must be studying at a university in the UK.
Applications must be submitted as soon as possible or at least three months before you start the final year of your PhD course. Please be specific in the amount you wish the Trust to consider and the reasons for which you are applying for this grant.
Eligibility
PhD student in the final year of study who has not previously received a grant from the trust.
The Trust awards grants to postgraduate PhD students, whether from overseas or from the UK, to help meet tuition costs, but only in respect of the last year of their course.
Students must be studying at a university in the UK.
The Trust will only provide a one-off grant to postgraduate PhD students therefore if you have received a grant previously you are not eligible to apply again, even if you require funding to help with a different course.
The Trust does not support students undertaking a postgraduate diploma/certificate, or Masters degree (such as an MA, MSc, MBA, LLM, MEd, Mphil, Mres).

Method of Application
Applications must be submitted as soon as possible or at least three months before you start the final year of your PhD course. The Trust will only make payment of funding for Postgraduate Students in September or January, depending on when your course starts.
We only accept applications submitted online using the correct application form. Any applications sent by post, email or fax will not be considered.
Before submitting the form please ensure that you have the following information ready: Personal Details, Course information, Grant Amount, and Beneficiary Details. And any additional details or supporting documentation you wish the Trustees to consider.

PLEASE NOTE:
If you are not successful in your application the Trustees will not reconsider a repeat application from you for the same funding requirements.
