Scholarship Description
The University of the West of England, Bristol offers a range of scholarships for international postgraduate students each year. This includes the Millennium Scholarship.
The Millennium Development Scholarship is targeted to international students who wish to attain Millennium Development goals within their country.
Successful applicants must show how the scholarship will help them attain the Millennium Development goals within their country, and will also be required to undertake both an internship and an ambassadorial activity as part of the programme.

Have achieved the equivalent of a British 1st in an undergraduate degreeHold an unconditional offer or a conditional offer where IELTS or equivalent English language is theonly conditionBe a new student to UWE Bristol with no previous UK studyBe classed as overseas for fees purposesNot be a sponsored student or in receipt of another scholarship/awardProvide official transcripts at the time of application
Specific Criteria:
Applicants are selected based on academic merit and the information that is provided in their application form and statement. Applicants will need to provide information in their application detailing how the scholarship will help them to attain the Millennium Development goals within their country.

A total of 2 scholarship awards are offered - 1 for the September 2018 entry; AND another one for the January 2019 entry
Sponsorship duration
This is a tuition award - it will last throughout duration of programme
Scholarship benefits
50% tuition fee scholarship will be awarded for an outstanding student to study a one year Masters programme at UWE
The recipient of this scholarship will be required to undertake an internship working within the International Development Office and other departments, and will also be required to undertake ambassadorial activity for the University throughout the duration of the course.
Method of Application
You must have received an offer for a Master’s Programme at UWE before you can apply for this scholarship. Applicants can apply via their UWE Welcome portal by completing the scholarship task by the deadline date below.
Only eligible applicants will be invited to apply via a task in their welcome website.

DEADLINES:
The deadline for submitting your application for the September 2018 intake is 31 May 2018; while that for the January 2019 intake is November 2018(exact date yet to be advised).

The University of the West of England, also known as UWE Bristol, or simply UWE (pronounced "you-we") is a university based in the British city of Bristol. Its main campus is at Frenchay in Bristol, about five miles (8 km) north of the city centre. UWE also has campuses at St Matthias and Glenside in north-east Bristol and Bower Ashton, near Ashton Court in south-west Bristol.
UWE is the larger of the two universities in Bristol, the other being the longer established University of Bristol.
