JAMB has ordered all institutions to conclude the 2017 Admission Processes on or before 25th January, 2018. This decision was reached after a meeting held, by the board, with stakeholders, on issues concerning admission processes, and the need to reconcile the academic calendar. According to the Board’s Head of Media, Fabian Benjamin, “Candidates who have gained admissions into various institutions and are yet to register or do not have admissions by January 25 should begin to make preparations for the 2018 UTME". Mr. Fabian also pointed out that UTME results are currently valid for only 1 year, and the board will inform candidates if there is any decision to extend the result validity. The 2018 UTME will hold between March 9 and 17, while the mock exams would take place in the first week of February. The 2018 JAMB UTME Mock examination which was ealier scheduled to hold between January 22 and 24 has been moved to the first week in February. The reason for the postponement was necessitated by the fact that some of the CBT centres located within campuses cannot be used due to the ongoing strike action by NASU. However, the date for the main examination which was ealier scheduled to commence on March 9th, 2018 and end on March 17th, 2018 remains the same. So far, 283,319 out of the expected 2 million candidates have registered for the 2018 UTME.
